Managing Consultant – Hillary M Namunyu

Hillary NamunyuHillary is an experienced editor and writer who has worked with mainstream Kenyan and international publishers. He enjoys working with children. When not writing or editing, he is out there curating or taking part in children fun and motivational events, reading aloud from storybooks, creating with them art and crafts, or travelling to experience cultures of people and writing about them. He has edited numerous children stories including award winning ones (Koko Riko Take It Easy published by Storymoja which won the Jomo Kenyatta Prize for Literature 2017, children category) as well as levelled storybooks used in the Kenya primary school curriculum. Among his published chapter books (Teddy Mapesa and the Missing Cash, shortlisted for the Golden Baobab Prize for African Literature 2014 and published in 2018 by Phoenix Publishers Kenya, Fall of the Jungle Kingdom published in December 2017 by Storymoja, Heroine of Muwanza published in September 2018 by Storymoja). He is a co-author of approved Teacher’s Guides (Know More Art and Craft Grade 1 and Know More  Psychomotor and Creative Activities PP2). His upcoming works are A Story for Another Day (a young adult novella) and Fisi Msaliti (a children Kiswahili reader).

He has done publishing consultancy work with the Research Triangle International for the Tusome project by the Ministry of Education and Penguin Random House Ladybird keywords series, consulted for East African Educational Publishers, Transworld Publishers, among others.

He is pursuing an MA in International Conflict Management at the Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies University of Nairobi and holds a BA in Language and Literary Studies from Moi University, Kenya.
