Ghana international midfield marshall Thomas Partey may not be available for the upcoming Gunners game against unpredictable Leeds United. Arsenal face Leeds in an important away game that may give a glimpse into the future of Arteta’s squad.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta fell short of admitting that Thomas may be unavailable due to a thigh injury. Even though he has been training, the midfielder missed Ghan’s recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers games against Sudan.
He was substituted after picking up the injury during one of Arteta’s most humbling defeats with the Gunners falling 0 – 3 at home against on form Aston Villa. Arsenal were outmanoeuvred for most of the match and never seemed to have a single significant response to Villa’s tactics.
“…he tried to carry on and he wanted to play the second half and we knew it was a significant injury. He has done really well, he is working very hard and he wants to be available,” told Arsenal.com.
The youthful manager who has completely taken control of once miserable Arsenal said he is cautious enough not to play Partey before he is fully fit. That just makes sense though, doesn’t it?
