Is it possible to download android apps on Huawei Matepad 11?

As you know, Huawei doesn’t run on android anymore because of longstanding trade spats that saw USA companies such as Google ending partnerships. Now the Chinese phone maker has its own androidlike OS called HarmonyOS.

If you search for an android app on this table, you will definitely not find one in its Appstore. However, the search redirects to APKPure and other websites that have android app repositories. You can download the app you want from there and because of how HarmonyOS is built, the app will run on the Matepad. Just beware of viruses even though the Huawei claims to have vetted all the downloadable apps.

Remember also that APK is going to be obsolete this year as Google embraces AAB for all apps on Play Store. Huawei promises to keep up with these changes.
