Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G specs and price and how to pre order in Kenya

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G foldable smartphone is open for pre-orders in Kenya at a cost of KES 220,999. You can place your pre-order at any of the authorized Samsung dealers or at Safaricom outlets countrywide. You can also do that online at or the Samsung website.

Just like its sister the Galaxy Z Flip3, Samsung extends a 12-month warranty for both inner screen and outer screen breaks on all pre-ordered phones, and will also gift you with a wireless duo charger and a flip cover with S-Pen, in addition to getting into the Samsung Care+ portfolio.

The Galaxy Z Fold3 was released on August 27 in South Korea. Pre-order offers for Kenya and the East African region are limited although allocations will be unlimited once largescale shipping begins. This foldable phone is one of the hits on the market at the moment.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 5G quick review

Just like we already discussed about the issues with foldable phones, Samsung is working harder to take care of the creases at folds and disintegrating hinges and display, and they are largely getting it right.

The Galaxy Fold 3 5G is also lighter, thinner and more affordable than its predecessor the Fold 2. However, it still folds along the vertical line and may not be as trendy as the Flip 3 which folds along the horizontal line, and it still feels bulky in the hand or pocket.

It does not show an obvious crease line at the fold, and the hinges are stronger and integrate well with the rest of the body. The cover screen has a 120Hz refresh-rate giving you a fantastic user experience.

The S Pen experience is great for someone who wants extra pleasure in using phones or a business person in a conference room, but it may not be great for someone on the move. Throwing the S Pen in your jeans or shorts pockets while running about is not a comfortable idea, is it? The cover screen doesn’t have S Pen support too.

But if you happened to fall in the swimming pool or ocean with this phone, you wouldn’t need to worry with its water resistance capability. That makes a case for longer durability in addition to the aluminium and stronger materials used on the hinges and the body.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 camera

Apart from the other noted cameras, the Fold 3 comes with an under-display camera, a first for Samsung. This one is hidden behind the main screen and can be used for selfie, though the results are not as fantastic as the main camera. It is probably best for video calls.

Although it has a lot of cameras, five in total, you wouldn’t bank on them to capture the most panoramic phots or videos. No, they aren’t as fantastic as you would imagine them to be especially at such a high price for the phone.

The advantage this phone has over the Flip 3 is that you are able to multi task on the double screens since the fold is vertical. But as you use more applications, you will most definitely run out of power sooner than you can imagine. 3 hours tops.

Apart from battery problems, which Samsung must work on in future for all its phones, there was also an issue where one user complained that the WiFi wasn’t connecting and Samsung alluded to some update that was yet to go through.
